NCIS B168 1st Floor Renovation

GbOSS is providing construction services for select renovations of B168 – NCIS First Floor to include the main lobby; restrooms, stairwells, and elevator; Security Office; and north and west Loading Docks. Additional Loading Dock work repaired stairs and added a small lift. GbOSS is overseeing:
- Relocating Security System Panels
- Installation of CCTV Monitoring areas
- Renovation of NCIS Protective Operations Field Office (POFO) Suite
- Updating Mechanical Rooms and freight elevator
GbOSS is managing the removal and installation of new finishes; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); electrical; data; and furniture throughout the project area. Exterior repairs to main entrance glass doors and sidewalk were made.
Constructed in 1942 as the Navy’s Photographic Science Laboratory, B168 is on the National Register of Historic Places eligible under Criteria A and C. B168 housed the primary Photography Lab for the Navy during World War II and the Cold War. This Government Deco Building was designed by the Eastman Kodak Company.
